Black and Brown Voices

University of Alberta-TELUS Centre for Professional Development, Edmonton

Black and Brown Voices United is an evening to celebrate poets, storytellers and musicians from the Black and Indigenous communities based in Treaty 6/Metis territory. In the tradition of winter storytelling time, we invite all communities to join us for hot bannock and tea served by NativeDelights and witness some never before seen creative collaborations between Inuit throat singers, poets, guitarists, singers and African drummers and dancers.

Opening the night in a good way is Roxanne Tootoosis. Featuring Musicians: Sila Singers http://silasingers.wixsite.com/katajjaq Leanne Goose https://leannegoose.com/ with help from her friend Trent Sangea Academy https://www.sangeaacademy.com/
